Have fun knitting this easy beanie for someone special
Use yarn designed for knitting on needles size 3.00 mm to 4.00 mm. You will need 1 -2 balls of 50 grams.
Knit rounds on a circular needle or 5 stocking needles.
How to work out how many stitches to cast on:
First: Knit a trial piece in ribbing: Knit 3, purl 3. Count how many stitches are needed to measure 10 cm when the piece is medium to fully stretched (depending on how snug you want the hat to be)
Second: Measure the circumference of the head in centimetre.
Third: Calculate the stitches needed for your work this way e.g If the head circumference is 45 centimetre: 45:10 = 4.5 x number of stitches needed to knit the 10 cm wide ribbing piece. The number must be able to be divided with 6. Round down or up as needed = stitches needed for your custom sized beanie.
