My Story

My story began with a childhood full of love and creativity. Both my parents were very talented, do-it-yourself people and very supportive of letting us children express our imagination through crafting, cooking, and gardening. We grew our vegetables, and my mother made most of our clothes - a tradition I followed with my kids.

Every moment is an opportunity to create something beautiful

Over the years, my crafting skills grew. I began to make my own designs and learn how to write knitting patterns. My webpage Cosy Craft was also born so that I could share my makes and quirky ideas.

When I lost my husband, I lost my ability to concentrate on knitting and crocheting. Although crafting had been comforting for both of us throughout his illness, it now filled me with emptiness and sadness, not having him by my side.

Knowing the many physical and mental health benefits of crafting, I took up sewing again, and my healing journey began. The first project was a quilt for our granddaughter, incorporating a piece of my husband’s most loved shirt.

Slowly the joy of crocheting and knitting has also returned. And with that, profound gratefulness for having experienced such deep love.

Now as well as making things, I create my own patterns to help other people find their creative mojo again. Sharing my projects, new techniques, and different fabrics and yarns is a great joy for me.

Join me and my lovely cat Mille as we embark on lots of great projects to make you feel creative and invigorated by crafting again.
